Hello everyone!
So my first makeup product review is going to be about Bare Minerals's new foundation!
This foundation is unlike any other foundation by Bare Minerals. It's called Bare Minerals Bare Skin Brightening Serum Foundation. Wow what a mouthful! :P
What makes this foundation so different is first off it's water, oil, parabens, silicone, and frangrance free. I'm all for a foundation that doesn't have anything that will clog my pores because I have oily/ acne prone skin. Also this foundation will make your skin brighter and reduce the look of dark spots! How awesome is that?
So since the foundation is not made with silicone, the consistency of the foundation is watery and runny even though it is water free. With that being said, Bare Minerals introduces the shake, drop, buff method.
SHAKE: Shake your foundation well so that the consistency will thicken up and be easier to apply. Bare minerals created a buff brush that has a dent in the middle of the bristles of the brush. This is where you DROP the foundation: Add 1-2 drops of the foundation to the brush. Then you use the brush to BUFF: Use the brush to apply the foundation in circular motions and buff your skin.
Now I have a ture. My face was freshly cleansed and all I have on my face is my primer. The primer I use is Black Opal Oil Blocking Primer (I bought this from Rite Aid but it might be available at other stores too). Excuse my break out on my forehead...Aunt Flow decided to come visit early :(
As you can see from the photo, my skin has some dark spots like my dark eye circles. Also there are areas of redness like my pimples T_T
Now I have a after picture. I applied my concealer, the foundation, and filled in my eyebrows. I used the Shake, Drop, Buff method mentioned above. I am absolutely in love with this foundation! Like where has this been all my life?!
It's so lightweight, it feels like I don't have any makeup on at all. It really feels my bare skin! It brightened and evened out my skin tone completely. The color definitely matches my skin tone. It's sometimes hard for me to find a foundation that is a perfect match because I have medium deep skin with golden undertones and sometimes the foundation I find either has a reddish tint to it or it's just too dark. A major plus is that my skin doesn't feel oily or greasy! I was afraid of that because of how watery the foundation is but as soon as I put this on, my fears faded away. I didn't even apply powder over the foundation and it literally lasts all day long!
Overall Rating: 10/10
